UAW Local 1872 Members Enter Week Five of Their Strike in York, Pennsylvania

UAW Local 1872 is currently on strike against Johnson Controls in York, Pennsylvania. Local 1872 President Michael Tawney stated the strike is to provide a better contract for the workers there in York. Entering week five of the strike, issues include wages, vacation time and overtime.

“Our members at Local 1872 are standing together in solidarity,” states UAW Region 8 Assistant Director Tim Smith. “We are asking all Region 8 members to stand with these members as they are determined to last one day longer.”

On October 29, 2020 members of UAW Local 738 came out to show their support for Local 1872 members. Please keep these members in your thoughts and prayers as they stand in solidarity to win a new contract for the next four years.
