Region 8 Veterans Council Supports Wounded Warrior Project

The Region 8 Veterans Council continues to support Wounded Warrior for our returning soldiers. Region 8 and member locals veterans committees continue to raise money in support of this project.The veterans council will be actively involved with Operation Swansdown on October. This effort will provide warm meals and needed donated clothes and other items.

My family and I attended a wonderful concert in honor of Kevin Downs on
July 17, 2007. Kevin lost both legs and his left arm in an lED explosion in
Iraq. When he is able to return home he wants his own home that is friendly
to his own needs. Lone Star was the headliner along with Collin Ray, John Barry, Paulette Carlson and many other acts. They all donated their time. A wounded warrior from Iraq opened the concert with the National Anthem.

Collin Ray has a new CD to be released on August 20, 2007 called "A Soldiers Prayer." Please call your local radio station and request the song to be played. All the monies from the song will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Project. Collin announced this at the concert. The more it is played the more money for the project, which helps soldiers and their families. Please, please call your radio station.
