Support For UAW Active And Retired Members Affected By Hurricane Ian In Florida, South Carolina And North Carolina

Region 8 has created a UAW Region 8 Hurricane Relief Fund to collect support for members and retirees devastated by hurricane Ian. We have been in communication with UAW representatives in the affected states, and we are currently accessing the needs of all members. As there are many retirees in Florida, we are also in communication with IAC chairpersons.

President Curry and the International Union are working with the AFL-CIO and other labor unions to identify ways in which we can provide immediate relief to people in the affected states. We expect there will be many needs due to the number of homes, roads and community spaces that have been ruined by flooding.

If you are able, please make a contribution to UAW Region 8 Hurricane Relief Fund. Checks should be made payable to “UAW Region 8 Hurricane Relief Fund” and sent to the attention of Krystal Brawner; UAW Region 8; 151 Maddox Simpson Parkway; Lebanon, TN 37090.

As information becomes more available, we will be discussing with UAW leaders in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina how best to assist affected members and retirees.
