Region 8 Women’s Department Initiates “Talk About It Wednesday”

The Region 8 Women’s Department wants to keep the women of the region engaged, but with COVID dragging on that is more difficult to do. Region 8 Rep Amanda Goins Directs the Region 8 Women’s Department and is excited about their new program.  “I wanted to share with you what the Women’s Department is doing to try and keep our members engaged, ”Amanda states.  “Working with the Region 8 Women’s Advisory Committee we are beginning the new “Talk About It” Wednesday’s. This will be a Zoom meeting bi-monthly on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6 pm EST and will begin on January 26, 2022.  It is open to anyone who would like to register.”

 “We received feedback from the Women’s Conference that you would like to meet more than once a year. We listened,” Amanda adds. “Join UAW Women for our first installment of "Talk About It" Wednesday's. This month we will have an informal conversation on Mental Health.”

 The Tentative Agenda for the January 26, meeting is as follows:

  • Panelists: 30 min
  • Q&A from Members: 20 min
  • Legislative Update & Action: 10 min

This will be a reoccurring bi-monthly (every other month, 4th Wednesday of the month), informal conversation to educate members on engaging topics that address the needs of the membership and the communities they live within. Calls will last 60 minutes.
