Region 8 Holds Web Developement Class

UAW Region 8 held a web design class September 24-26, 2003 at the Region Office in Lebanon, Tennessee. The class was taught by Region 8 Web Master and Local 2195 member John Davis.

Potential webmasters from a number of Region 8 states were on hand to learn techniques for building web sites for their local unions. At the conclusion of three intensive days, participants left with web sites either constructed or well on their way to being finished.

“We have found that local union web sites are a great way to get the union message out,” states Region 8 Assistant Director Donny Bevis. “We plan on continuing these classes on a six month basis, offering beginners followed by intermediate classes. Hopefully, we can continue to educate our members on this skill to take advantage of the Internet as an outlet for letting other know about labor and unions.”
