And the winner is …
Six Region 8 local unions take honors at UAW editors’ conference

In the middle of an April blizzard at Black Lake in northern Michigan, five local unions from region 8 carried off awards at the 2003 UAW-LUPA Journalistic Excellence contest during the union’s Local Union Press Association Conference.

Covering the years 2001 and 2002, our region’s local union editors stepped up to the stage to accept their awards. Some won in multiple categories while others accepted their first awards. All were recognized for jobs well done. The Region 8 winners are:
