Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear
Visits Bowling Green Assembly
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
On Friday 7.31.26 UAW Local 2164 Bowling Green Corvette Assembly had the privilege hosting Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear for a visit through our Plant.
Although Governor Beshear has visited Bowling Green Assembly before, he wasn't able to tour the Plant at that time because he had actually came instead to visit and SUPPORT US ALL on the picket line during the UAW 2019 Nationwide Strike during bargaining negotiations with General Motors!
During Governor Beshear's visit in 2019 and his recent visit touring the Plant, he made it crystal clear in his messaging to UAW Local 2164 Membership, that Organized Labor is critical to strengthening the middle class and in the continued FIGHT against egregious and rampant Corporate greed.
Fighting for better wages, Company funded health care, health and safety, AND the hourly employee having a "seat at the table" is what Unions advocate for and have success with at the Bargaining table!
On behalf of Director Smith, Assistant Director George Palmer, and all of Region 8 UAW Local 2164 Leadership Brandon Casper (UAW Local VCAP Chair), President Charles Laster, and Shop Chairman Jason Watson along with other Elected and Appointed Representatives welcomed and thanked Governor Beshear and his Team for their time.
Lastly, Governor Beshear made no hesitation and unapologetically thanked the Union Represented Members of UAW Local 2164 for making him and Kentucky proud for the hard work and dedication they give to deliver a beautiful car to many customers all across the United States and all across the Globe!
In Solidarity!
