UAW Local 3520 Labor Day Parade & Picnic

Brothers and Sisters,

On Labor Day this year, as we do every year, UAW Local 3520 proudly participated in the Charlotte Labor Day Parade. We took members to Charlotte to march in the parade alongside one of our Ride of Pride trucks and fellow union brothers and sisters from across the area.

Our brothers and sisters from the Mount Holly plant also marched alongside us and had trucks participating in the parade. It was an honor for Local 3520 to stand together with Mount Holly and the rest of the labor movement in celebrating the working men and women who built this country.

Following the parade, we gathered at Park Road Park in Charlotte for some great food, fellowship, and solidarity.

Labor Day is a union holiday. The rights, benefits, and protections working people enjoy today were fought for by generations of union members. If you are thankful for Labor Day, you can thank a union member.

Local 3520 is proud to be the largest UAW local in the Carolinas, with members spanning from Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Durham, North Carolina. It is always an honor for our Local to participate in the Charlotte Labor Day Parade and stand shoulder to shoulder with our union brothers and sisters.

Also, I’d like to add to the report a shout out to Darren Mccarthy for bringing his truck and trailer, so some members didn’t have to walk the whole thing.

In Solidarity,

Jon Greene

President UAW Local 3520 Statesville NC
