Sourcing Training At Daimler Truck
“On behalf of the UAW Daimler Truck Council, we extend our deepest appreciation to the International Sourcing Department for their recent visit to our facilities. Their efforts in providing training and oversight to our UAW Locals have been instrumental in strengthening our collective voice and advancing our shared goals.
We would like to especially recognize Tom Burns and Todd Scott of the International Sourcing Department, as well as Region 8 Director Tim Smith and Assistant Director George Palmer, for their leadership and support in this important initiative.
We also extend a thanks to the following individuals for their continued support
- Corey Hill – Region 8 Servicing Representative
- Jason Callahan – Region 8 Servicing Representative
- Adam Stevenson – Administrative Assistant for Heavy Truck
- Billy Rose – Heavy Truck Servicing Representative
- Matt Blondino – Heavy Truck Servicing Representative
Their commitment has been vital in helping us take a significant step forward in unifying our approach to sourcing.
In 2024, our UAW Locals came together to secure a historic, record-breaking contract covering six Daimler Truck locations. Building on that momentum, we gathered in solidarity at UAW Local 3520 in Statesville, NC, to establish the Daimler Truck Sourcing Council—a first of its kind within the UAW.
This new council will include representation from Detroit Axle and Detroit Diesel, both part of UAW Local 163, and will serve as a platform for sharing sourcing information across the entire organization. It represents a powerful opportunity to protect jobs not only at individual locations but throughout the corporation.
Our unity is our strength. The formation of this council is a testament to what we can achieve when we stand together. We are proud to continue resetting the standard for labor solidarity and strategic collaboration.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we will win.
In solidarity,
UAW Daimler Truck Council
