We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each student who for entered the Region 8 UAW Community Action Program’s Scholarship Essay Contest. Many outstanding essays were submitted this year.

However, the judges had to narrow entries down to four (4) winners and those are as follows:

1st Place – Alice Holleman – Troutman, NC
2nd Place – Hilary Cripps – Brush Creek, TN
3rd Place – Seth Loeser – Hagerstown, MD
4th Place – Jared Adkins – Silver Spring, MD

We appreciate the time and effort that was put in these essays. Hopefully, in doing so, the students have become a little more familiar with the labor movement.
