Negotiations Underway At UAW Local 3520
Contract negotiations with Daimler Truck North America are currently underway at UAW Local 3520 in Charlotte, North Carolina. About 7,000 UAW members build Freightliner and Western Star Trucks and Thomas Built buses in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. Their contract expires on April 26, 2024 as the parties continue to work wages, job security and other items. Recently the UAW released a video concerning the contact talks entitled “Not Like It Used To Be.” (click here for the video).
“The Local 3520 Bargaining Committee have been meeting with the Company for the past two weeks with Friday March 1, 2024 being the last day for local union talks,” states UAW Region 8 Servicing Representative Jason Callahan. “The negotiations so far have been going not to well, as the company is dragging their feet. We are working on wage scale and seniority articles, as well as some non-economic issues,” Callahan adds. |
